The Cast Away!!
This paper is about a hero's journey throughout the world, and how he survived his situation. Chuck Noland is the main character in the movie Cast Away. Chuck goes on an adventure on a lost island, adjusting to a lot of new obstacles that he was faced with. Chuck Noland completed a hero's journey, because he was faced with many challenges. He was able to pull himself together and achieve greatness, never letting discouragement affect his determination to stay alive.
There are two separations in the movie Cast Away. First Chuck was called into work to deliver a shipment for FedEx, leaving his girlfriend and home. He struggled to leave his girlfriend, when exiting the black vehicle around Christmas. I think that he went on that trip, because he didn't think that anything would happen to him. The beginning of the journey starts when he gets on the plane to go on his trip. Also, Chuck has to make a decision whether he should go or stay on the island. The island was his home for four years. He had learned to adapt to that environment, and took an adventure on the island to find help.
When Chuck lands on the deserted island, his journey begins in the unknown, because he doesn't know where he is. He also enters a cave when it started to rain. The volleyball named Wilson was his mentor and his friend. Wilson stayed by his side throughout all his rough times. He was even the only one that Chuck could talk to. The unopened package was also his mentor, because it kept him going. The transformation is when he learns to cook and provide for himself in nature. I believe that he did a good job taking care of himself, no matter what he was faced with.
During the years that Chuck was on the island, he built himself a boat that was strong enough to get past the big waves. Also, while he was on the boat, he lost his best friend and became really sad. He was found in the ocean floating on the homemade boat. After they found him, they put him on a plane to go home. He got himself cleaned up, and started to live his life by going to find Kelly Fears, his long lost girlfriend. He learned how to use what he had in nature to better himself in his household. He was very brave and independent.
I have talked about Chuck Noland and his experience in the movie Cast Away. He was a true hero, because he was brave, courageous, and outgoing. Chuck learned to adapt to his new home on a deserted island. He was able to provide for himself even though he had doubts that he wouldn't make it. He was honest to himself, even about being suicidal. He completed a hero's journey , because not only was he faced with death, he overcame all of his fears. Chuck Noland is a true hero and has lived through some rough times. He has learned to take care of himself in any situation.
